Underneath, the creator layer runs itself:

🚚 Before your shipping moves into shopify markets, read this risk register

Shopify started rolling out market-driven shipping to merchants on October 1. Shipping setup moves out of delivery profiles and into Markets, with a deadline of July 1, 2027. New stores get it automatically, while existing stores can opt in.

Migration guides have flagged behavior changes that can quietly move money. Here they are as a risk register, ranked by how much they can cost.

Rates with the same name merge

What happens: rates sharing a name consolidate into one option, and only the highest is charged instead of the total.

Who it hits: anyone shipping oversized items in mixed carts.

The math: a sofa ships at $150 under a rate called "Freight." A side table ships at $60, also under "Freight." Today a mixed cart charges $210. After the merge, it charges $150. At 40 mixed orders a month, that's $2,400 in shipping you stop collecting.

Fix: give every rate a distinct name before switching, then test the cart combinations that matter.

Product-level rates disappear

What happens: rates targeted at single products move to collection-based targeting.

Fix: build collections such as "Oversize" and "Fragile" first, then check every special-rate SKU lands in one.

Carrier apps stop returning rates

What happens: apps that read or write shipping settings through the old delivery profile API need updates.

Fix: ask each shipping app vendor in writing whether they support market-driven shipping. Get the answer before opting in, because a rate that fails to load at checkout costs you the sale.

Orders arrive in pieces

What happens: one order can now ship in multiple shipments.

Fix: update order confirmation and shipping emails so customers expect more than one box, which heads off "where's the rest?" tickets.

Staff lose access

What happens: anyone managing shipping needs the Markets permission granted manually.

Fix: grant it before switching, not mid-peak.

Decision rule

If you ship freight, oversized or mixed carts, wait until January. The deadline is July 2027, and nothing is gained by changing shipping logic during Q4.

If you run simple flat-rate shipping with no carrier apps, switch now. Test ten real carts in a development store first.

Download your current rate setup this week and keep it as a baseline. When you do switch, compare test orders against it line by line.

🎯 Meta, X, Reddit and Pinterest are making ads easier to launch

Four major advertising platforms announced updates that simplify campaign creation, improve audience targeting and expand promotional opportunities, with AI taking over more of the manual work.

The Breakdown:

Meta Brings AI Into Ads Manager - Meta is testing conversational campaign creation, targeting and budget changes, alongside scheduled alerts. New tools also support AI video generation, audience discovery and in-chat checkout.

X Builds Campaigns From a URL - X Lift automatically generates ad copy, images and targeting from a website link. Advertisers select creatives and set budgets, while X reports 50% growth in active self-serve advertisers.

Reddit Targets High-Intent B2B Buyers - Reddit is testing in-market audiences for enterprise, business AI and cybersecurity, with early testers seeing nearly 7% better CPA. Max campaigns now support lead generation.

Pinterest Opens Up Creator Promotions - Brands can now boost eligible creator Pins without an existing sponsorship, giving advertisers more content to promote while allowing creators to decline or opt out.

Campaign setup is becoming less manual across major ad platforms. Meta and X are simplifying creation, Reddit is helping advertisers reach buyers already researching products, and Pinterest is expanding access to creator content. Advertisers still control what gets promoted and where budgets go.

What Works:

Packaging Leads Attention - The mint pack against the deep berry backdrop creates strong visual contrast, making the product instantly legible while the oversized pouch gives the creative clear mobile-first hierarchy.

Benefits Feel Credible - “23g protein,” vegan, gluten-free and no-sugar cues give shoppers fast functional proof, reducing cognitive load while strengthening the product’s better-for-you positioning.

Flavor Looks Tangible - The blueberries, purple powder and finished shake make the flavor experience easy to imagine, turning nutrition into something visually appetizing instead of overly functional or clinical.

Show the pack, core ingredient and finished drink together. That three-part composition explains what it is, what it contains and what shoppers ultimately consume.
